I had a Toshiba Thrive for a short amount of time but the Transformer went on sale and I switched. So I'm on the hunt for a slim case that can also hold the unit on an angle. A hard cover flap for the front would be nice as well. Thanks for any model suggestions.
Found something, just went to Best Buy and bought a thick neoprene sleeve with a zip which was meant for a HP tablet. The Transformer fits like glove.
The best case is without a doubt is the one made by Stilgut~ purpose made so fits perfectly, access to all ports, holds the tablet at various angles and looks very classy... not cheap but well worth every penny..
After some though having a cover that completely enclose the tablet overrides the builtin stand. I dont mind holding the tab when I'm not at my desk. I modified a book end to hold the Transformer which is completely stable in horizontal or vertical positions.
I purchased this one back in September: Amazon: Elsse TM Premium Synthetic Leather Case Got it mainly cause it was cheap! It's nice. I LOVE setting my TF101 at an angle on the bed or desk. The section that bends back when the TF101 is propped tends to flop back slightly now when it's just open. Not a problem when it's closed due to the bungee closure. I still like it despite that. The only other issue is the back camera lens is partially obscured by the case. I haven't tried to find a solution cause I don't use the camera that much. Read my review on the above Amazon page. Look for Doit2it!
I think the keyboard dock acts as a very good case and a very good stand. You can place the tablet screen at almost any angle. The keyboard dock is probably overkill if you don't really need a keyboard, but if you do find a keyboard appealing, I feel it provides great value over and above just a keyboard.
I wish the tablet had slots on the side to lock the tablet into the keyboard in a portrait position..
